DadTalk: Give Breather to Men Traumatized by Childbirth

This is an interesting post I read at DadTalk, about fathers being traumatized by childbirth.

I was discussing this post with my wife… and she said jokingly, “Get over it. If the men feel traumatized, how do you think the wives feel?”

I too have witnessed two c-sections and a normal birth (3 kids), and I’m a wimp when it comes to blood, I must admit.

I stayed near my wife’s face, and did my best to comfort her - even though she was giving me the angry painful pregnant woman look.

Not familiar with that look? It’s the one that screams…. “YOU DID THIS TO ME! YOU’RE THE REASON I’M GOING THROUGH THIS PAIN” look.

Ah yes… I remember it like it was yesterday. Yes, such fond memories - I must say.

My advice to those that get freaked out at the sight of blood. Stay away from where the action is and keep focused on your wife’s face.

Hey.. I don’t need to be in the front row to enjoy the concert.
